2. Visiting our website

Every time you use our website, we will collect the access data (which your browser transmits automatically) that makes that visit possible. Those access data particularly include:
– IP address of the inquiring device
– Date and time of the request
– Address of the accessed website and the inquiring website
– Information about the browser and operating system used
– Online identification data (such as device identifiers or session IDs)
These data must be processed for technical reasons, to enable the visit to our website and guarantee its stability and security (legal basis is Art. 6 (1) f GDPR). The information stored in the log files cannot be used to identify you.

3. Establishing contact

You can contact us in various ways. These include email (by using the email address linked via the contact page) and the contact form. In this context, the data you provide to us, such as your first and last names, email address, subject, etc., will be collected so we can process your request. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) b GDPR. We will delete the data collected in this context as soon as their storage is no longer necessary, or will restrict their processing if statutory retention periods exist.

4. Purposeful data use

We observe the principle of purposeful data processing, so we primarily collect, use and store your personal data for the purposes for which they were collected. We also take corporate privacy very seriously. We obligate our employees, and the service provider companies we commission, to non-disclosure and compliance with data protection laws.

5. Bookings

During a booking process, we collect the obligatory information we need to execute the contract, such as:
– First and last name
– Email address
– Invoicing and shipping address
Optionally, information such as your telephone and fax number are possible, so that we can contact you in these ways if we have questions ourselves. The legal basis for the processing is Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 b GDPR.

6. Use of cookies

Our website uses cookies. A cookie is a small text file which is stored on your device through your browser. Cookies are not used to execute programmes or load viruses onto your computer. Instead, our cookies’ main purpose is to provide you with customised services and allow you to save as much time as possible when using those services. Session cookies are used to assign various requests of your browser to the joint session. This lets us recognise your computer whenever you revisit our website. Session cookies are deleted when you log out or close your browser. The legal basis for this is Art. 6 (1) f GDPR.

We also use cookies and comparable technology from our partners for analysis and marketing purposes. This is described in greater detail in the following sections.

7. Matomo (formerly Piwik)

Our website uses Matomo, an open source analysis platform of InnoCraft Ltd., 150 Willis St, 6011, Wellington, New Zealand. Matomo uses a cookie to analyse user behaviour on our website. The cookie placed on your computer when you visit our website also stores and transmits your anonymised IP address. This means that the IP address will be truncated during data transmission to our server so that we can no longer identify you as a visitor to our website. The usage data, which the cookie transmits to us, will be evaluated only by us and will not be forwarded to third parties. The evaluation serves only to optimise and refine our website.

You can set your browser to reject cookies automatically, or you can prevent the recording of data (including your IP address) which is generated by the cookie and which relates to your use of this website by selecting the following button.

8. Use of service providers and data dissemination

We will forward your data to external recipients only if this is permitted under data protection laws. Besides the service providers mentioned in this data privacy statement, those external recipients can include computer centres which store our website and databases, IT service providers who maintain our systems, and consulting firms. If we forward data to our service providers, those data may be used exclusively to fulfil your order. We have selected and commissioned them carefully. They are contractually bound by our instructions and have at their disposal suitable technical and organisational measures to ensure the rights of the data subjects.
Within the Klax Group, many systems and technologies are used together. Therefore, within the Klax Group, those companies receive access to your data which need those to fulfil their contractual and statutory obligations, to comply with their respective orders, or both.
Moreover, it is possible to forward them to third parties if there is a legal basis for that, such as in connection with government requests, court resolutions and legal processing, if it is necessary for prosecution or law enforcement.

9. Google Maps

Our website uses the Google Maps service provided by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (‘Google’). In order for the Google maps that we use to be integrated and displayed on your web browser, your web browser must establish a connection with a Google server that may be located in the USA when accessing the contact page. If personal data is transmitted to the USA, Google shall be subject to the EU-US Privacy Shield. This gives Google the information that the contact page of our website has been accessed by the IP address of your device. The legal basis for this is Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 f GDPR, based on our legitimate interest in integrating a map service for contacting us.

If you call up the Google map service on our website while you are logged in to your Google profile, Google can also link this event to your Google profile. If you do not want this to be assigned to your Google profile, you must log out of Google before you access our contact page. Google stores your data and uses it for the purposes of advertising, market research and personalised display of Google Maps. You can refuse this data collection by Google.

10. Google ReCaptcha

All online forms on our website are protected from the entry of bots by the reCAPTCHA function provided by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (‘Google’).

Hereby must your web browser establish a connection with a Google server that may be located in the USA when accessing the contact page. If personal data is transmitted to the USA, Google shall be subject to the EU-US Privacy Shield.

In some locations on our website, we link to other websites or give you the chance to share content using the “Share” button. 12. Storage period

Unless indicated otherwise here, your personal data will be deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose of storage no longer applies. Those data will be stored further only if that storage is provided for by relevant provisions to which we are subject, further storage is necessary to protect legitimate interests, or you have granted us your consent. The data will also be deleted or blocked if a storage period prescribed by relevant standards expires, unless the data must be stored further to conclude or fulfil a contract.
